Balance and Empower, Mind and Body: 18th – 20th March 2016March 18, 2016 at 14:19
Join us for a Transformative weekend of Yoga, Breath and Meditation at the stunning Wasing Estate only 1 hour from London. March 18th – 20th 2016. Over the weekend you will stay in beautiful accommodation and be treated to delicious food cooked by the amazing chef Kirstan Horn. (Yes he’s my brother but is the best chef I know!)
Places are limited to allow maximum attention and really give you the space to inspire and refine your yoga practice. We will be taking a journey through the chakras (our energy centres) to leave us feeling thoroughly balanced and invigorated by the end of the weekend.
Yoga will be suitable for those of all levels of experience, options offered to all to help them maximise their experience. To enable this I will be assisted by my very talented sister Ruby Rebecca Horn who is a fully trained yoga teacher and has magic hands to give you lovely adjustments throughout the weekend!
We are very lucky to have the amazing Rebecca Dennis from Breathing Tree who will be offering 1 to 1’s for those who would like to try Transformational Breath (it does exactly what the name suggests). You can also treat yourself to a therapeutic massage with our wonderful masseuse Tania. Both should be booked in advance.
There will be time for woodland walks for those who wish to indulge or perhaps relaxing by the open fire.
Jess has been practicing yoga for over 17 years and teaching for the last 7. She has studied with some of the finest teachers from around the globe including Sean Corne, Shiva Rea, Tias Little, Adhil Palkilava, Claire Misingham and is currently training in ISHTA yoga with Katrina Repka.
She is influenced by numerous forms of yoga: Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Sivananda, Restorative and Yin and now teaches a blend of gently flowing, strong, breath led and alignment based classes.
She strongly believes in the transformative power of yoga and in helping students to discover tools to connect more deeply and mindfully with their bodies bringing more awareness into their practice and into their lives. She also is a strong advocate that yoga shouldn’t be taken too seriously and should put a huge smile on your face and in your heart!

Please see below some testimonials from our last weekend:
Jess’s yoga retreat weekend was amazing on all levels, the location, charming farmhouse, delicious healthy food, great company and of course the yoga…it was hosted by Jess and her lovely warm siblings who all abundantly gave great energy.
The yoga was just what I wanted, a kick start to ignite my yoga practice.
There was a good mix of yoga in the mornings, with plenty of relaxation and free time later on in the day.
Jess is an amazing teacher as we were a mixed group, I hadn’t practised yoga for a while… and she was able to accommodate all levels, going deeper in poses if she sensed people were able.
She guides you through the poses with a reminder of breathing which I personally loves as it connects the mind and body energy.
I came away feeling that mind and body were awoken, feelingly lighter and refreshed.
The transformational breathing was enlightening and can’t wait to book a one to one , felt I let go of baggage that wasn’t serving me any more.
The weekend was a great experience and can’t recommended enough, can’t wait to go again.
Thanks for such a wonderful weekend. I loved every part of it and really got the chance to wind down and tune into my body, surrounded by lovely people and eating such yummy food! The yoga was really energising and deeply relaxing on Sunday – just what I needed. I will keep my eyes open for the next one.
Being fairly new to yoga I didn’t know what to expect at Jess’s retreat & I felt pretty nervous before going, especially as I’ve never done anything like it before. How wrong could I have been? The weekend was fantastic – great yoga, lovely people, amazing food and the most restful & relaxing setting imaginable. Jess’s happy, relaxed & fun teaching style meant I made the most of a pretty packed itinerary – never feeling overwhelmed, but pushed to a comfortable limit. I also had the chance to focus on (and getting a couple of small personal victories) with poses that have been bugging me for a while. I would go back in a heart-beat. Anyone who has ever even remotely day dreamed of going on a yoga retreat should give it a go. It’s good for the body and soul.
What can I say? What a wonderful weekend! My first ever retreat and I LOVED every minute! From the warm welcome to my gorgeous room with the comfiest bed and beautiful linen. The Farmhouse was perfect. Having not practiced yoga for a while I was slightly nervous about a two and a half hour session but with your warmth and beautiful smile guiding us through every pose, I found the practise fly by. Ruby being there too to help re-align us was an extra treat. The yoga studio was fabulous! The food was incredible, I haven’t eaten so well in ages! I found the balance of free-time and practice just right.
Wasing estate was the perfect location for the retreat, it was homely and relaxing. The weekend was the perfect blend of yoga, breathing, relaxation, good food and lovely company. I came away feeling totally restored and with my balance reset.
I would highly recommend a retreat to everyone! Even for someone like myself who has only been practising yoga for a few months. The classes are great with options for all levels. You don’t need to be a yoga expert to really enjoy and benefit from the weekend. There is absolutely no pressure or judgement, it’s all about doing what feels right for your body and what will make you feel relaxed and restored.
Wow thank you for such a magical and special weekend!! I knew I would enjoy myself but I didn’t expect to have such a memorable time and to fall in love with yoga so much! I was apprehensive about doing such long sessions but the time flew and I enjoyed every minute! I missed my daily session so much I went to a lunchtime class on Monday! I felt much more confident with the positions, my alignment and breathing!
I have been raving to everyone who will listen about your weekend, I almost don’t want to give them details otherwise you’ll be so busy I won’t be able to book on the next one!! Please also pass on my thanks and gratitude again to Kirstan for giving up his time to cook for us. His food was absolutely amazing and it was clear he put his heart and soul into it, all the dishes were beautiful and delicious and his smile never once faultered despite the never ending cooking he did! Any recipes would be very gratefully received and trialled on my friends!!
I think the whole weekend was perfectly balanced, there was never a dull or rushed moment. You read the needs of the group very well and knew when we were too tired/not in the zone for the candlelit meditation. I for one really appreciated that.
I am not really sure what you could do any different next time, the size of the group was perfect as we all got to know each other well and it was a ‘safe’ place for us to say/show how we felt, particularly in the breathing session.
