Yoga can help you, mind, body and soul, let me be your guide on this amazing journey
My love affair with yoga began 20 years ago. To be honest it started off as a flirtation, a way of keeping fit. But I soon realised yoga had so much more to offer, I committed and we were going steady. I travelled solo A LOT through my 20’s, and I couldn’t have done it without my practice, It gave me confidence and a connection to myself I hadn’t found elsewhere.
Over the years I have explored many forms of yoga including: Ashtanga, Iyengar, Hatha and Sivananda. But when I took my first ISHTA Class, I knew I’d come home.
ISHTA means, “that which resonates with the individual” and is also an Acronym for ‘Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra and Ayurveda’.
We work with Ancient Eastern Disciplines and a modern yoga system to bring about tools for individual transformation. We encourage students to practice in a way that suits their individual body, nature and spirit helping bring them each to a place of Sattva (balance).
My classes are a Slow Vinyasa flow, with a strong focus on the breath and alignment. I skillfully weave into the classes my love for Eastern and Tantric Philosophy and Mythology, Ayurveda, Mantra and Mudra.
I love that I am and always will be a student of yoga. I’m a self-confessed book junkie and love reading about all things yoga, which helps me to stay inspired.
Yoga means Union or to Yolk and no matter how fragmented I may feel when I arrive on my mat, my Sadhana, my daily practice, helps me feel whole. It’s given me the tools to navigate the ups and downs of life and I hope to share these in my classes, to encourage more awareness. To help people connect more mindfully with their bodies, enabling greater connection with each other and the environment.
I’m forever grateful to all of my teachers, particularly Yogiraj Katrina Repka and to my students from whom I learn so much.
